MICROSCOPY

The Microscopy Area is a research laboratory equipped with:

• a laser scanning confocal microscope for fluorescence studies of cell systems, intact organisms and biological tissues;
• an Olympus IX81 inverted microscope for the live-imaging microscopy technique;
• a high resolution scanning electron microscope;
• a transmission electron microscope for the ultrastructural analysis of biological systems;
• the tools necessary for the preparation of samples for both scanning and transmission electron microscopy.
