Area

Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR)

The Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) area is equipped with 4 X-band spectrometers operating in continuous wave, one of which furtherly equipped with a Q-band and 4-450 K temperature control unit. The EPR technique is applied, in vitro/ex vivo, for the study of free radicals, oxidative stress, antioxidants, protein structures, membranes, metalloproteins, radiation damage, material science. Research fields cover in vitro, ex vivo and pre-clinical research. We offer service to third parties for analysis and study of several systems, including: • Oxidative stress and analysis of free radicals (in vitro and ex vivo) • Antioxidants • Macromolecules • Metals and metalloproteins • Radiation induced damage • Characterization of materials • EPR accessory development The area also provides expertise and techniques for the dosimetry of ionizing radiation (stimulated luminescence and other advanced detectors) and for the study of oxidative stress.

To ask for the service:

  1. preliminary contact the EPR area staff;
  2. fill out the online form 'Request Service' briefly illustrating the scientific problem;
  3. plan a meeting with the area staff to discuss methods, costs, timing etc.
