Area

Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR)

The Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) area is equipped with 4 X-band spectrometers operating in continuous wave, one of which with very high sensitivity.

The EPR technique is applied, in vitro/ex vivo, for the study of free radicals, oxidative stress, antioxidants, protein structures, membranes, metalloproteins, radiation damage, in different fields including pre-clinical research (degenerative diseases and tumors).

The area also provides expertise and techniques for the dosimetry of ionizing radiation (stimulated luminescence and other advanced detectors) and for the study of oxidative stress.

To ask for the service:

  1. preliminary contact the EPR area staff;
  2. fill out the online form 'Request Service' briefly illustrating the scientific problem;
  3. plan a meeting with the area staff to discuss methods, costs, timing etc.
